Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction Program

A special residential training program for the office bearers of the year 2021/2022, of the National Children’s Council under the Children’s Clubs program, the key program implemented by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services to ensure the right to participation of children, was held at the Berjaya Hotel premises during the two days from 29.09.2023 to 30.09.2023 with the leadership of Namal Liyanage, Commissioner of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services. 175 children who were elected for the National Children’s participated in this.

Children were given knowledge on child-centric disaster risk reduction and as well as the opportunity was given to be involved in group activities on risk conditions identified through child participation.

UNICEF Organization provided the sponsorship for this program.
