Digital Story Telling Program – Officers Appraisal

The Department of Probation and Child Care Services together with UNICEF conducted a series of “Digital Story Telling” training programs with the aim of providing knowledge, skills and needed to socialize the messaging activities relevant to safeguarding the children’s rights using mobile phones and communication apparatus.

Children of children’s clubs, Child Rights Promotion Officers/Assistants, and some children with special needs were participated in this training program. Appraising the optimum creations was held at the Radisson Hotel on the 18^th of April 2024, out of the digital creations created by the officers who participated in this program.

Suggestions and views of the officers and the children of the children’s clubs were also retrieved to improve the Training Manual prepared to carry the Digital Story Telling Program to the ground level.

In addition, a special lecture was conducted by the Chief Officer on Information Safety of the SLCERT Institution on using modern technology.

This program was held under the leadership of the Commissioner, Ms Gayani Kaushalya Wijesinghe, of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services and the participation of UNICEF who sponsored the program and the officers of the SDJF Institution that provided resourcefulness.
