UNICEF Projects

The UNICEF Sri Lanka and the Department of Probation and Child Care Services has been carrying out a number of special programmes for so many years to ensure the safety of children. Following are the main programmes among them.

1. Digital Story Telling Programme
2. Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction Programme
3. Weather Kids Programme
4. Strengthen Alternative Care System in Sri Lanka
   • Reunification of Children in Child Development Centers
   • Rehabilitation of children in conflict with the law
   • Identification of children in child development centers who are able to reintegrate back to society through a survey
   • Capacity building/ awareness or alternative care policy
   • Identification children at risk of institutionalization and provide necessary assistance.
