A discussion related to the existing challenges on the rights and safety of children in the Kinniya Divisional Secretary Division was held on 31.01.2023 at the office with the leadership of the Divisional Secretary. It was discussed about the departure of parents of children above 2 years of age for foreign work, rehabilitation of children addicted to drug use, addiction of children to mobile phones, obstacles in providing transport facilities for schools were discussed here.
A group including the Children’s’ rights Chief of UNICEF, Probation Commissioner, Children’s Rights Promotion Officer attached to Trincomalee District, Assistant Officer, Probation Officers and Chief Probation Officer of the Eastern Province participated in this event.
