Launching of “SipSavi” Educational Scholarship Program – Phase II

Launching of “SipSavi” Educational Scholarship Program – Phase II, by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in collaboration with the Atlas Axillia Institute for children who are at risk of depriving education due to economic difficulties.

The Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, for the Phase II of the “Sipsavi “Scholarship program implemented by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in collaboration with the Atlas Axillia Institute with the objective of securing the children’s right to education since the year 2020, was held on 14.02.2023 at 10.00 a.m. at the Auditorium of the World Bank Project on Early Childhood Development.

This program held with the leadership of the Commissioner of the Department of Probation & Child Care Services Mr Namal Liyanage and the Managing Director of the Atlas Axillia Institution, Mr Asitha Samarasiri and also participated in, the Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Empowerment Ms Nilmini Herath, Marketing Director of the Atlas Axillia Institution, Ms Kaushali Kusumpala, Chief Institutional Coordinating Officer Ms Nadeeka Jayasinghe, Executive Institutional Coordinating Officer Mr Rovin Viduranga and Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services Ms Harshika Ediriweera.

A bursary of Rs. 2000/- is provided monthly for 250 children who attend schools from grades 6 to 11 under this program.
