Affirmation of children’s Right to Participation

A preliminary discussion regarding planning activities for implementation within the next few years to further broaden the children’s clubs and councils program implemented from the village up to the National level by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services for the affirmation of children’s right to participation, was held on 07.03.2023 at the Department of Probation and Child Care Services. Representatives from the NGOs from Save the Children, Leads, FISD, WDC and Sri Lanka Unites participated in this. It was also decided to formulate a strategic plan for the implementation of Children’s clubs and children’s council program to prepare the background required to involve them in the process of decision making process by further empowering children and to get the views of children regarding the gathering of National children’s Council.
