Seminar on Preparation of the Periodic Report of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

As a country that has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Government of Sri Lanka has to submit a report to the United Nations on the implementation of the Convention. This report has to be submitted every five years.

The 7^th periodic report of our country is due to be submitted on 10^th August 2023.

With the objective of submitting a comprehensive report, a seminar on the preparation of this report was conducted on 12.10.2022 for officials of ministries and institutions discharging services for children.

The seminar was organized by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services under the guidance of the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment. UNICEF provided the financial sponsorship for this seminar.
