The Discussion Held at Waaharei Divisional Secretariat

A discussion on the Protection of Child Rights was held on 01/02/2023 at Waaharei Divisional Secretariat in Batticaloa District. A group including the Head of the Child Protection Division of UNICEF, the Probation Commissioner, the Child Rights Promotion Officer and the Local Children’s Council Chairman participated in this event. The attention was mainly drawn here in regard to the increase in the number of children dropping out of school, difficulties in obtaining transportation facilities for school children and departure of parents to foreign countries.
